Adelaide is the HAPPIEST baby I have ever photographed. I have gotten to photograph her parents many times, starting with their engagement photos and then wedding day but this was my first shoot with her. She’s the cutest and sweetest little six month old and has the best big sisters (two giant Mastiffs).
When my sister asked me to come to Colorado to watch her 4 year old, I hesitated because it would be during my busiest time of year. Turns out that it was absolutely perfect timing. A break from routine, different surroundings and basing every minute of my day off of what a four year old wants. It’s exactly what I needed. We have been so busy playing, crafting and just having fun that I wasn’t sure if I would get any pictures of him in during this trip. But as we were driving home today, I noticed how pretty the trees were in the mall parking lot. Yep…the mall parking lot. lol. It was a quick session but we got some really cute photos. Sweet boy, I’m going to love you forever and always.
For this child I prayed and the Lord has granted the desires of my heart. ~1 Samuel 1:27
The best part of my job as a photographer is getting to witness all those special moments in life. I woke this morning and was on my way to the hospital by 6:30am. My cousin, Jessica, was scheduled for a c-section at 7:30am and she asked me to be a part of it. The excitement, anticipation and just sheer happiness of being a part of a babies birth is indescribable. This was her second c-section and child and I was also there to photograph her first so everyone already kind of knew what to expect this time around. Everything kind of goes in warp speed once you get those scrubs on. It seemed like we barely got into the room before they announced-IT’S A BOY!!!!
Congratulations, Ryan and Jessica. He’s perfect. I can’t wait to hear his name…..I still think Billy Bob sounds good. 😉
If you know me, you know I have a fierce love for my nephews. They have, and always will, mean the world to me. This last October, I went to Colorado to spend time with them. I had also promised myself that I would not miss taking AJ’s six month photos… so off to Colorado I went.
I love seeing them interact with each other. I love seeing AJ’s face light up when his big brother enters the room. There is quite the age gap between them so it’s so fun to see how Jevan has transitioned from being an only child to a big brother. He’s so protective of him and so very concerned if he is hurt. He wanted a sibling for a long time. He is the best big brother!
I have heard many parents say that they wish they could keep their children from growing. That time goes by too fast and before they know it the kids are grown up. Because of my nephews, I know what they mean. I know how exciting it is to see them grow but, at the same time, a little painful. I know that even if I am blessed enough to become a mother someday….these boys will still feel like my own. They are everything. They are my “Baby” and “Punky Poo”.
A few funny outtakes! We spent HOURS taking photos, the poor boys were wiped out and annoyed but for the most part, they cooperated so we could get some great pics. Also, it turns out that AJ loves eating leaves. I have several photos of him shoving the leaves into his mouth. 🙂
Bergit came in for one year photos in March but as I was going through photos I found her shoot and decided she was just too cute to not share! As I keep going through more sessions I might be posting other shoots from the past several months.
Bergit has had a special place in my heart since before birth. She’s the first born to one of my dear friends. Before her arrival I photographed her “big brother” quite often. Her big brother just happens to be a furry Spinone named Gunner. He didn’t make it to the studio for her one year photos but I am sure there will be tons of photos of the two of them down the road.
And yes, she is wearing designer skinny jeans. 🙂
